Professionalism in Alpha Kappa Psi
Alpha Kappa Psi is recognized as the premier developer of principled business leaders. The Epsilon Sigma chapter at Georgia Tech does just that. Our chapter continuously strives to develop our members and the Georgia Tech community to appreciate and demand higher ideals in business and professionalism. We supplement our members’ college education with high-quality professional development and events.
Our members receive resume critiquing services, interview skills development, public speaking opportunities, time management and communication skills that prepare them incredibly well to tackle the challenges of entering into, and prospering in, the business community. Each member of Alpha Kappa Psi is exposed to career development through the professional programs we sponsor and through our incredible network of business professionals.
As a Fraternity dedicated to bettering individuals professionally, we feel that service to the community is highly important. Throughout the semester, our Brothers participate in service events promoting both bonding among us and bettering the community! Some of the events we participate in include: TeamBUZZ, Tech Beautification Day, Hands on Atlanta, and Relay for Life, but we are certainly not limited to these events! Outside of service events, Brothers also donate canned foods during the holidays and donate to funds such as the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and American Cancer Society. All in all, with our service efforts we strive to better our surroundings and ourselves at the same time!
Our chapter also partners with Omicron Delta Kappa, the Leadership Fraternity, to co-sponsor the annual Georgia Tech Leadership Conference. Last year, with an attendance in excess of 300, the conference was a tremendous success. The conference boasted incredible speakers including Georgia Tech President, G. Wayne Clough, the founder and chairman of Chick-fil-A, Truett Cathy, and the CEO of Hosea Feed the Hungry, Elisabeth Omilami. Each year the conference also provides its attendees with breakout sessions covering a wide range of leadership topics.
